Kelly Buckland
Kelly Buckland is the Owner and Operator at Get My Boat Licence. With her extensive background in management, service delivery and training, Kelly brings a unique and valuable set of skills to the company. Her friendly and approachable personality allows her to quickly build relationships with customers and provide them with the support they need to understand and complete the process of getting a boat licence. Chris Saunders
Chris Saunders is a fully certified trainer with Australian Maritime Trainers and NSW Maritime Safety Training.
Chris has been involved with water and boating since a young age. He grew up in the country and was always involved in swimming and water activities. At the age of 18, he obtained his boat licence and soon after joined the New South Wales Police and later the Water Police.
Whilst in the Water Police, Chris conducted investigations into boating accident incidents and gained an understanding of both sides of the coin. He also furthered his studies in relation to maritime and went on to work for Newcastle Ports, driving the Authorities’ vessels and crewing the pilot boats.
Chris has been a trainer for New South Wales FITC (Fishing Industry Training Committee – trading as Maritime and Safety Training) for over 20 years, providing boat licence courses and training. His knowledge and experience in the water and boating industry are invaluable in helping others to obtain their boat licence.
At Get My Boat Licence, Chris is a registered Boat Licence Trainer with NSW Maritime & Safety. He works closely with customers to ensure their boat licence journey is as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Matthew Palmer
Matthew holds a Coxswain 1 and MED2 qualification. Matt has worked extensively in the charter fleet on Sydney Harbour as well as a Water Taxi Drive on the Pittwater. Matt has been an accredited Recreational Boat and PWC trainer for a number of RTO’s since 2019. He also has an extensive Marine Rescue backgroundback ground.
Matt has a great sense of humour and approachable nature. As a trainer, he knows how to turn even the most mundane topics into engaging and fun learning experiences. With Matthew, you’ll not only learn all the important skills and knowledge, but you’ll also have a blast while doing it.
